About DEWCOM 2016
Dew computing is a new computing model appeared after the wide acceptance of cloud computing. While cloud computing uses centralized servers to provide various services, dew computing uses on-premises computers to provide decentralized, cloud-friendly, and collaborative micro services to end-users. Dew computing is an on-premises computer software-hardware organization paradigm in the cloud computing environment, which is complementary to cloud computing. The key features of dew computing are that on-premises computers provide functionality independent of cloud services and they also collaborate with cloud services.
Dew computing has just gone through its emerging stage. A few research groups contributed to dew computing from different angles. As an emerging and fast-growing research area, it is necessary to bring researchers in this area together to exchange research progress and to envision the path ahead. The 1st International Workshop on Dew Computing (DEWCOM 2016) is the first-ever conference in this area, and it will shape the future of Dew Computing.

Paper Submission and Publication
DEWCOM 2016 collaborates with Open Journal of Cloud Computing (OJCC), RonPub (www.ronpub.com/OJCC) in paper publication. DEWCOM 2016 does not publish proceedings. Instead, a special issue on Dew Computing (DC-2016) (http://www.ronpub.com/OJCC/cfp-si/2016/DC-2016) was arranged with OJCC. Papers can be submitted to the OJCC special issue before or after DEWCOM 2016. The members of the DEWCOM 2016 Program Committee will review the submitted papers.
Papers should be prepared using the template of OJCC, available under http://www.ronpub.com/OJCC/author-guidelines. Authors should submit their papers directly to OJCC (ojcc@ronpub.com) with the subject “DC-2016”.
The Program Committee organizes a peer-review process to determine if a paper can be accepted by the special issue of OJCC. Authors should perform an adequate revision to address the concerns from reviewers.
The sooner that authors submit their papers, the sooner that authors get the notification. Every paper, once accepted, will be published online in OJCC immediately.

Charlottetown is a hot tourism place in the summer. Most hotel rooms in summer dates are sold out a few months ago before the summer. We reserved a block of rooms for DEWCOM 2016 in Best Western Charlottetown (CAD$204.99/night plus tax, Non Smoking, Full Breakfast, Free High-Speed Internet) for the period from Jul. 6 to Jul. 8. Please call the hotel (Tel: +1 902-892-2461) to book the room. You may mention that the room is reserved in the name of Yingwei Wang for DEWCOM. Please do not use online booking system because all the rooms are already sold out.

About Charlottetown
Charlottetown is a small city on a beautiful island in the Atlantic Ocean. The island is called Prince Edward Island which is the smallest province of Canada. Charlottetown is the capital city of this province. Prince Edward Island is one of the major tourism destinations in the East Coast of Canada and USA. The population of the whole island is only about 140,000, but every summer the number of visitors is more than 1 million. July and August are the tourism season of this island.
Charlottetown airport (airport code: YYG) has many non-stop flights to Toronto, Montreal, Ottawa, and Halifax everyday. It also has seasonal non-stop flights to Orlando.
